So let's be honest-- I know NOTHING about beauty products, mascara, eyeshadow, lip liner, foundation, and overall anything about enhancing my looks with make up! Nobody really comes to me with makeup/skin/beauty advice because I don't have any! lol Growing up I was never into make up but was always into buying clothes, jewelry, and especially shoes. I was that girl that wore heels in high school. Yes, I know I was only walking through the halls to class... but I don't regret it for one minute! (a girl always needs a reason to buy heels). :) But, on the other hand, I have always loved to have my nails painted and I always had a lipgloss in hand/backpack/purse/pocket. ALWAYS. Since Jr. High, I think gloss and a little color on my lips have always made me feel prettier and more pulled together.
My make up routine seriously has not really changed a lot in my short life, as the only thing I really wear everyday is bronzer, but my love for lipgloss has turned into a HUGE love for lipstick as I have gotten older and totally more mature. ;) Hence, why I decided to share with you all my favorite colors for fall! I am a big fan of MAC lipstick, as if you couldn't tell, but sometimes I branch out into other brands as well as I see other bloggers wearing colors I like. I think I tend to wear MAC the most because it's what my mom has worn since I can remember! Whenever she would need something beauty, we headed to the MAC counter, so naturally, just like I also buy Tide detergent, Bounty paper towels, OPI or Essie nail polish, Kenra hair spray, Gillette men's shaving creme, and cheap Old Navy flip flops every summer, I gravitate to MAC. (But no, mom I will not use your new TOMS toothpaste or start drinking egg whites lol - I love you).
But, back to lipstick...
Usually my favorite colors to wear on my lips are nudes and pinks, but for fall I am LOVING the deeper burgundies, reds, and even purple tints. The first two colors I shared in this post, Mehr and Creme Cup, are my absolute favorite everyday lipsticks. I wear them lots (esp Creme Cup). They add so much color to the face without being too bold. I think they are both really easy to wear as they enhance your look without you needing to worry about reapplying, smudges, or your color coming off.
When Seth and I go out to dinner, church, or especially when I do blog shots (because I like having more color on my face!) I love wearing bolder colors. Bold colors on the lip, like YSL #31 & Rebel look amazing in fall with cream sweaters, big scarves, and great boots. These bold colors can totally add to an outfit and really make it pop. These colors are so fun to wear to a girls night out, date, or shopping and lunch!
I am no expert with lipstick but I do love playing around with different colors. Hopefully one day I will be able to spend more time getting good at makeup, but for right now clothes and shoes are taking up plenty of my time. :):):):):):):)
