ALRIGHT. If you want to see a ton of pictures of me in a dressing room then this will be your favorite post ever. ha
This past week when I was home in KC, one of my favorite things that I get to do is SHOP. All of my favorite stores, (minus Zara) are at home so my mama watched my babies for a morning and I just went AT IT! I went to Nordstrom first and had my eye on some Free People sweaters (which they didn't have in store. woof.) and this turned into me trying on anything that caught my eye! lol Half way into my trying on frenzy I decided to turn my shop day into a post and to document all of my favorite things! So here you go... store by store. First up...
Nordstrom:
DRESS | I thought this dress was a super pretty fall pattern and had great movement. I just wish I was taller for it, because I pictured it with OTK boots, and didn't love where it hit me. But overall, really pretty! (I wish it hit me where it does on the model!)
FAUX LEATHER SKIRT | LACE TOP | Every time I see pictures of girls wearing white boots I think it looks amazing, but when I tried some on, I just didn't feel very "me." But, when I saw this white skirt, I LOVED it! It fit so cute! Also, this lace top, I just grabbed as an after thought but LOVED the way it fit. It cut in all the right spots. This is a top I would like to save up for. I can actually see myself wearing it a lot, casual and dressy, and you all know I'm a sucker for white tops!
VELVET PANTS | It is hard to tell by the photo but these are black velvet. I had been eyeing these Frame pants in the yellow velvet color for a month now but they only had black in store. I thought they were really pretty but SUPER stretchy. I don't always like a ton of stretch so I was glad I got a chance to try them on.
BLACK COATED DENIM | There is nothing I love more than pants (besides shoes I mean). These fit like a GLOVE. I wanted to buy these SO bad but hated the price tag. See what I found later on, to substitute!
VELVET JACKET | This velvet bomber was just a fun piece to try on. If I had cash to blow, I would of grabbed it for the fun fit and color for the season!
SWEATER | The color pulled me into this sweater. I loved the color but I'm not always a boxy oversized sweater girl. I like to see shape and so this style sometimes swallows me. And, also I couldn't tell if I loved the neck or not, but it was cute!
So after all those, I left Nordstrom empty handed. Oh, I did get a mascara that I had been wanting to try because Julia Engel from GalMeetsGlam always uses a BobbiBrown one and I wanted to try hers!
FOREVER21:
PINK SHERPA JACKET | I didn't try anything on but I thought this pink jacket was ADORABLE for only $35! I have another pink jacket from Zara I am keeping for Christmas, but otherwise I would love prob grabbed this baby for the price.
PINK CORD SKIRT | This was SO cute! Didn't want to go into dressing room but I saw so many cord skirts out shopping.
Next, I headed out to Town Center and my sister met me there! Our first stop was...
Express:
BLACK BAG: Loved the size of this and the quiliting. Perfect crossbody.
PINK SWEATER | I loved the color of the sweater on the sale rack but didn't love the length on me. Really pretty color though!
PRINTED CAMI | I grabbed this silk top (as I will be able to wear it awhile in Texas) and think it will be really cute with a long cardi over it. It was a steal for only $29.99.
OK, and so obvi this picture was not from my shopping trip but my sweater comes in 4 colors and is on sale! Online it is under $50, but in stores it was marked down to like $34? ish... I love it! It's a great weight and the ruffles are so fun!
Anthropologie:
I didn't end up trying anything on in Anthro but this hat. :) My sister can't believe I like them but I think they are SO cute! They are coming in. Trust me. lol
Madewell:
BLACK COATED JEANS | I have never really shopped at Madewell and I don't know why but they had quite a few cute pieces! They don't have a ton of color, which may be why I don't always gravitate towards some of their pieces, but they did have some black coated skinnies that I decided to try! They were less than 1/2 the cost of the AG. They fit really good even though I had to go down a size so I'm hoping they wear well!
VELVET SKIRT | If I could of bought one piece, not for practical but for pretty, it would of been this skirt. It was so pretty! I loved the frilled hem and the length. Such a gorgeous skirt!
SWEATER DRESS | Loved the idea but not the right fit for me. Too long and also a little scratchy, but cute sleeves.
GAP:
FUR VEST | LOVED THIS. They had it in blush pink too! So pretty and love the length.
SHERPA-COLLAR JEAN JACKET | I found a jacket super similar to this when I was cleaning out my closet at my mom's house! So adorable!
And lastly...
Lululemon:
Ok people, do we like this red color on me? Is it an everyday color? I can't decide. I'm torn. I got them but want to make sure I'll wear them everyday like my black and grey! HELP!
So there you go! All in all I walked out with a sweater from Express, Madewell coated jeans, a sale cami from J. Crew, and new leggings. What do you guys think? What should I go back and get?!?! What are you going to go get?
Hope you enjoyed my shopping trip!
xo, Ash
When I was in Kansas City a few weeks ago, I went shopping for a few hours by myself. I tried on SO many things because I LOVE trying on clothes. It was so fun to try on spring styles and trends and then narrow it down to my favorites! I also had ordered a few things on my birthday wishlist that I had to choose between! Oh, the life....
