Our traveling officially begins today! "WHOOP!" because I am SO excited to see all of our family and friends, but also the word "NOOO" starts ringing in my head. Traveling in the car with my kids is not on my top 10 list of favorite things to do as a mom. Tell me we are flying. Yes, I'm in. Let's do it. Tell me we are driving... my head starts to bang against the wall! LOL I don't want to sit in the car for hours and be the entertainer!
You can read all my tips for flying with my babies HERE but I have only thought of a few tips for MYSELF to prep this long journey we are about to embark. We are headed to West Texas, then KC, and then back to Fort Worth, which will be a grand total of 24 HOURS IN THE CAR in the next 2 weeks. argh. So here are some things I'm going to tell myself right now so I don't get down on myself tomorrow. LOL
1. MINDSET. Once you are there, you don't even remember the journey. You are just so excited to be THERE. You are with family and friends, eating great food, relaxing, and people are pretty much taking care of your kids! I have got to remember that there is an end in sight to a long drive and I never think twice about the drive once I arrive.
2. Night Drive. Now, I know this is not for everyone, but Seth and I love leaving around 5 or 6 pm for a 6 hour drive. Our kids eventually crash in the car around 7ish which makes the next 5 or so hours SO much easier! On the flip side, you can get really tired so you BOTH have to stay awake!
3. Have a movie, audio book, or entertaining podcast on the radio while you drive. This REALLY makes your time go so fast and can keep your mind off of how long you have to be in the car! Seth and I love listening to Francine Rivers Books and my last favorite one I read was her "Lineage of Grace" & "Sons of Encouragement" Series! It's amazing and really brings these 10 bible characters to life!
4. Kind of obvious, but make fun pitstops. When we don't night drive, we stop at Chick-fil-A or somewhere with a play area every time! Giving your kids breaks is key.
WHAT DO YOU GUYS DO TO ENTERTAIN YOUR KIDS IN THE CAR AND MAKE THOSE LONG DRIVES EASIER!?
I don't have anything wrong with Haddie girl watching a movie but I don't want her watching a movie for 6 hours! I would LOVE to hear some of your ideas! You can DM me too on insta!

Throwing it back to a few months ago when Chandler came and took some photos of our house as I love seeing the changes we made in the year we have lived in our home! I'm continuing the next room BEFORE/AFTER post with the living room/office area…
